FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

"Petal & Poppy"? That sounds like a flower shop...

Do you remember when I mentioned my personal journey of finding meaning in the midst of heartbreak? What I discovered was a deep need to ensure that my baby's life, however brief, could have a positive impact on others. As a therapist specializing in trauma treatment and driven by a strong passion for supporting women, I can now see that this path was divinely guided. Don't get me wrong; I would trade everything to hold my baby safely in my arms if it were possible here on this side of heaven. However, I can't, so I've chosen to find purpose within the pain.

Now, you may be curious about the name "Petal and Poppy Therapy." According to the Cambridge dictionary, "petal" is not just a noun; it can also be a verb, representing a friendly way of talking to someone, especially women and children. As a noun, "petal" is described as the beautiful and delicate leaf that protects a flower's reproductive parts. My baby, whom I will one day embrace and love in heaven, was meant to arrive in the month of August, which is why I chose "poppy" the August birth flower. This name reflects the profound journey that led me to this place of healing and support. We all have unique stories, but I want you to know that I not only have a passion for perinatal work, but I see you... I see you because, in some ways, we can relate in this pain. I know what it's like to be a woman (and all the things that come along with that, can I get an amen?), to lose my baby, and to feel like the world just keeps moving while mine has stopped. I know what it's like to struggle to get pregnant time and time again. I get it. I too, am 1 in 4.

Do you take insurance?

I do not accept or handle insurance directly, however, I am happy to provide you with an insurance-ready receipt so that you can request reimbursement for your services.
